I asked a couple of people if they wanted to write on my blog and make regular contributions. Here is the first post from guest writer #1, Freddie Abs who will keep us informed on the goings on in techno land.
Two Tracks of the week
1. Anthea & Celler - The Playmaker (Dyed Soundorom Remix)
A prime example of a remix which represents a significant improvement on the original version. Therefore merci beaucoup to young Frenchman Dyed Soundorum for this. (Check out his myspace - http://www.myspace.com/dyedsoundorom) for more musical treats.
Random fact: Up until very recently Anthea could be found working behind the counter at London’s Phonica Records on Poland Street.
2. David Pher – Harare
Has that ‘welcome to Africa’ thing going on, something of a trend in house and techno productions over the last two or three years.
Random fact: David Pher is German. Listen to his more of his excellent productions at http://www.myspace.com/davidpher. Also, Harare is the capital of Zimbabwe.
Oldie(ish) but Goodie
Some Polyphony by Petter (2006)
Why?: Hypnotic (or just extremey long-held?) synth notes.
Random fact: Petter Nordkvist, AKA Petter, is a Swede. He was 20 years old when he released this.
Mix of the week
